Propylene glycol is an organic compound with the chemical formula c3h8o2, which is miscible with water, ethanol and a variety of organic solvents. Under normal conditions, it is colorless viscous liquid, almost tasteless and slightly sweet. Propylene glycol can be used as raw material of unsaturated polyester resin. It can be used as wetting agent in cosmetics, toothpaste and soap together with glycerol or sorbitol. In hair dyes, it is used as moisture regulating and hair leveling agent, antifreeze, cellophane, plasticizer and pharmaceutical industry.

1, 2-propylene glycol is an important raw material of unsaturated polyester, epoxy resin, polyurethane resin, plasticizer, surfactant, the amount of this aspect accounts for about 45% of the total consumption of propylene glycol, this unsaturated polyester is widely used in surface coatings and reinforcement plastics. 1, 2-propylene glycol has good viscosity and hygroscopic properties, and is widely used as hygroscopic agents, antifreeze agents, lubricants and solvents in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. In the food industry, 1, 2-propylene glycol reacts with fatty acids to form propylene glycol fatty acid ester, which is mainly used as food emulsifier. 1, 2-propylene glycol is an excellent solvent for flavoring and coloring. Due to its low toxicity, it is used as a solvent for spices and food coloring in the food industry. 1, 2-propylene glycol is often used in the pharmaceutical industry as a solvent, softener and excipient for the manufacture of various ointments and ointments, and as a solvent for mixing agents, preservatives, ointments, vitamins and penicillin in the pharmaceutical industry. 1. This product should be sealed in a cool and dry place. Keep away from fire and heat. It can be stored in containers made of iron, mild steel, copper, tin, stainless steel or resin-coated containers.
2. Although this product does not spontaneously ignite, it is combustible. Long-term storage does not deteriorate, but the opening absorbs moisture. Storage and transportation containers should be made of galvanized iron drums, aluminum or stainless steel. Storage and transportation in accordance with the general provisions of low toxic chemicals.
